Her outfit is perfect for that time period. It is kind of a peasant outfit, as judged by our time, but in THAT time, vivid colors were reserved for the rich and for gods and goddesses.
I was amused by the comment below which asked why gods take on human form. Well, most likely the person making that comment probably worships Jesus, who was a god taking on human form. So, it was rather funny and ironic.
